"We’re the dreamers and the doers, improving the lives of the more than 20 million Americans who experience blindness or vision loss by amplifying those voices and ensuring equitable access for all." —Kirk Adams, American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) President and CEO

For nearly 100 years we’ve been a leader in the vision loss community, spurring progress and championing accessibility, equality, and technological innovation. As a national nonprofit with offices in five U.S. cities, AFB strives to expand possibilities for the more than 20 million Americans living with vision loss. Like Helen Keller, AFB's most famous ambassador, we are committed to creating a more equitable world for people with disabilities. From infancy to retirement, AFB is there to help at every stage of life.

We invite you to learn more about the mission that drives us, our vision for the future, and the impact we have on the everyday lives of people with vision loss.
