American Foundation for the Blind Announces 2017 Scholarship Recipients

NEW YORK, April 12, 2017—The American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) has awarded its 2017 scholarships to eight outstanding students who are blind or visually impaired and are pursuing their studies at institutions of higher education. These scholarships support one of AFB's most important goals: expanding access to education for students with vision loss.

New Book Offers Fresh Insight on Depression Treatment with AMD Diagnosis

New York (February 1, 2012)—In Out of Sight, Not Out of Mind, a new text on age-related macular degeneration (AMD) from AFB Press, author Lindy Bergman recounts her journey with macular degeneration, and offers suggestions on how to remain positive and get the most out of life. The book also contains highly informative chapters on the nature and treatment of AMD authored by world-renowned experts from The Chicago Lighthouse for People Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired.

AFB Names Kathleen Mary Huebner, Ph.D. and George Kerscher, Ph.D. 2012 Migel Medal Recipients
